螺旋副的間隙大，旋轉時費力，使用中穩定性差。機用虎鉗開合行程大，螺旋副的運行長度較長，為保證能夠快速裝夾，（金屬加工真不錯）機用虎鉗螺旋副的螺距較大。較大的螺距意味著較大的螺旋升角，轉動單圈進給量較大，使用時較費力；較大的螺距需要更大的配合間隙來確保螺旋副的正常使用。

裝夾過程及工作原理。鉗臺底座在設備工作臺上固定好后，先調整可調鉗口座在鉗體底座上的位置，確保裝夾行程內能有效對工件進行裝夾；再將待加工產品置于柔性虎鉗的兩個鉗口之間。
